Tresa Jones - International Tutor

Tresa Jones the founder of "Baltimore on the Prairie" school in Omaha, Nebraska will join our teaching staff next year. Tresa comes from Seneca, Kansas and runs an antique business. She is very fortunate to have a large personal collection of vintage quilts. She uses these vintage quilts as inspiration and makes patterns and quilts from them. She is an award winning appliquer and is going to share her knowledge with us in two classes.

"Old Fashioned Bouquet" will be held on Friday 25th May.

"Almost Wine and Roses" is a two day class held on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2012.

Sew Gathering

As we are not having a large Quilt Show this year, we thought we would invite everyone to come and join us Thursday 24th May from 1.00pm - 4.00 pm for an afternoon of sitting and stitching.

By then the girls will have finished setting up the classrooms and the Challenge Quilt dispay and would love to meet all the participants for a little bit of quiet time.

So if you are in town, then come on down to the Gatton Shire Hall and enjoy an afternoon of stitching in the company of others. Some of our tutors should also be around so you could get to meet them in an informal situation.

Gail Chalker, Lyn Crump and Susan Harris have designed and been working on a combined quilt. Each of these tutors will give you two hours tuition in techniques of their expertise. This class is going be held over three evenings, giving you something to occupy yourself with after day classes.

Applique, curved piecing, foundation piecing and hand piecing will all feature in the quilt. Of course it has some red and green fabric in it. You can see the centre of the quilt in the header of this blog.

For the first time we have an International tutor joining our teaching staff. She joins two Interstate tutors and some Queensland tutors.
